Bulgaria already has three medals from the Olympic Games in Paris, as all of them were won in one evening, BGNES informs.
First, Semen Novikov won the gold in the category of up to 87 kilograms in Greco-Roman wrestling, then Kimia Alizadeh won a bronze medal in taekwondo and finally Bozhidar Andreev won a bronze in the category of up to 73 kilograms in weightlifting, which is the first Olympic medal for Bulgaria in weightlifting since 2012, when Milka Maneva won silver.
27-year-old Andreev, who is two-time European champion, showed great performance and grabbed the bronze with a total lift of 344 kg. He achieved 154 kg in the snatch and 190 kg in the clean and jerk.
Kimia Alizadeh, who represents Bulgaria in taekwondo, won 2:1 against Luo Zongshi from China in the battle for third place in the category of up to 57 kilograms.
Kimia Alizadeh is a bronze medallist from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, as well as a silver and bronze medallist from the world championships in 2017 and 2015.
