It is still unclear whether the DPS around Ahmed Dogan will be registered

So far there is no decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on the filed request for independent participation of the DPS faction of honorary leader Ahmed Dogan in the snap parliamentary elections on October 27. 


It was submitted yesterday along with over 5,000 signatures after the CEC refused to register separately the two Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) factions with coalitions - "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - DPS" (Ahmed Dogan) and "DPS - New Beginnings" (Delyan Peevski) to participate in the elections.


Verification of the signatures is underway and is expected to be completed on Thursday or Friday, said CEC spokesperson Rositsa Mateva.

21 September is the deadline for formations to register for the 27 October elections, following the court ruling.
