Political instability is an external manifestation of the war between the oligarchs, says former prime minister Denkov

"Political instability is merely an external manifestation of the war between the oligarchic clans and those who control the captured state in their struggle for influence. We want to get rid of this model". This was said by Nikolay Denkov of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

According to him, a regular government cannot be formed until the issue of this war between oligarchic circles is resolved. "If anyone has illusions that the PP will support Borissov's GERB - to return to a system in which shares are divided among those close to the oligarchs' power - this will not happen with the participation of the PP," Denkov declared firmly.

He also noted that the success of the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) parliamentary group, Delyan Peevski, was largely due to his symbiosis with GERB leader Boyko Borissov. "Peevski will try to compensate for the loss of influence in the DPS (after the DPS split into two factions, one of which is led by honorary leader Ahmed Dogan) by increasing his influence in other parties. The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is one of them, and GERB is another where he will try to increase his influence," predicted former prime minister Denkov.
