A country at the centre of ancient civilisations, whose historic sites sit amongst world-ranked Black Sea coastlines and snow-capped World Cup ski resorts, Bulgaria packs a lot of tourism attractions into its compact 111,000 square kilometres. And it's set to become an even more accessible and value-for-money destination.

So begins the Euronews article entitled "From golden beaches to snow-capped peaks - is Bulgaria Europe's best year-round destination?"The publication focuses on the many aspects that make Bulgaria not only unique but also accessible to foreign tourists.

"One word that describes Bulgaria's tourist offer is diversity," says Evtim Miloshev, Bulgaria's caretaker tourism minister, in an interview with Euronews.

The publication also emphasizes the ancient history of Bulgaria, which spans thousands of years, and our towns and villages are "open-air museums of the past". Experience Hellenic, Roman and Byzantine Empire eras in the ancient cities of Sozopol, the UNESCO heritage site Nessebar. Visit Veliko Tarnovo, the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom that brims with hilltop medieval fortresses and historic cobblestone streets," the publication says.

Bulgaria stands out among European destinations for its attractiveness to tourists in all seasons, Euronews stresses. The article also notes key summer destinations on the Black Sea coast such as Sunny Beach and Golden Sands - some of the most famous resorts that attract with their sun-bathed beaches and first-class holiday conditions

At the same time, the winter resorts, including Bansko and Borovets, are famous not only for the variety of their slopes, but also for organizing international ski and snowboard competitions. Pamporovo also attracts a wide range of tourists ready to explore the beautiful scenery and winter sports.

The publication also marks one of Bulgaria's latest initiatives - to present an integrated tourism product to the world: Destination Balkans.

"We are working hard to create new flight connections between the Balkan capitals to offer a common tourism product. The aim is to give tourists from the markets across the ocean the opportunity for a unique and integrated journey, encompassing the culture, history, nature and culinary traditions of several countries of the region," Minister Evtim Miloshev points out.

Bulgaria is also becoming a popular destination for health and wellness tourism with its ancient cities and spa resorts. Visitors can submerge in the thermal mineral spring waters such as those in Hisarya, Pavel Banya - famous for its Roman archaeological excavations, and Velingrad, dubbed the "Balkan capital of spa and wellness", Euronews further reports.
