''Bulgaria has welcomed with great relief and joy the release of Bulgarian citizen Daniela Gilboa, who had been held captive by Hamas. This positive outcome is the result of intense diplomatic efforts, in which Bulgaria actively participated'', reads a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

''Bulgaria extends special gratitude to Qatar, Egypt and the United States, and personally to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, whose decisive role and personal involvement in the mediation process were key to achieving the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the release of the hostages", the statement further reads. " We hope that in the near future all remaining hostages, including the other hostage with Bulgarian citizenship, Matan Angrest, will be reunited with their families", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

''Bulgaria will continue to support the efforts of the international community to ensure the full implementation of this agreement, which will lead to the release of all remaining hostages, as well as to a lasting cessation of hostilities and the creation of conditions for peace and stability in the region'', the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
