On the day of the third boycott of large retail chains their turnover increased by over 1 million euros, according to data from the National Revenue Agency. A day earlier, traders reported revenue of over 12,7 million euros, while on Thursday, when the protest was announced, it reached over 14 million.

A big drop occurred after the first boycott on February 13 – nearly 29% or about 4 million euros and a week later – 4.4% or 652,000 euros.

The Ministry of Agriculture is expected to present a draft law this week that would shorten the food supply chain from producer to consumer. Before being submitted to parliament, the texts will be discussed with representatives of the sectoral organizations of agricultural producers and large food chains.

Meanwhile, further protests are being prepared, which are expected to affect mobile operators.
