Initiative committee calls for establishing National Pediatric Hospital in Sofia

On June 1, Children's Day, citizens, non-governmental organizations, doctors and public figures set up an initiative committee calling for establishing a National Pediatric Hospital in Sofia.

In a call to the President, the Speaker of the Parliament and the Government, initiators said that Bulgaria was the only European country with no national pediatric hospital and doctors working with children were scattered in more than 14 different hospitals in the capital city. This hampers not only the work of doctors and the care of small patients, but also the training of pediatricians, experts said.
