Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has announced he is waiting for a letter from the European Commission that would allow a link to the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project to reach Bulgaria directly so deliveries are not to be dependent on Turkey.
The pipeline capacity for Bulgaria is expected to be 15.7 billion cubic meters of gas. At the same time, it became clear that Moscow was planning a second pipe of "Turkish Stream". It is currently believed that it would go directly to Turkey, and from there natural gas will enter Europe either through Bulgaria or Greece.
Chances of Bulgaria to get these 15.7 billion cubic meters of gas have increased significantly in recent months. Bulgaria has also received indirect support from Serbia, Hungary and the Austrian giant OMV, who called that the pipeline should pass through this country.
