Travels of Bulgarian citizens to Western Europe up, to Russia down

The number of Bulgarian citizens travelling abroad in July 2017 amounted to 665.700, or 15.3% more as compared to the same period last year, data of the National Statistical Institute shows. The number of Bulgarians travelling to Italy increased with 53% year on year, the number of those travelling to Austria saw 34.9% increase, to Spain (32.4%), to France (29,2%) and to the UK (19,5%). Meanwhile, the number of Bulgarian nationals travelling to Russia dwindled by 13.4%. In July this year the number of foreign nationals travelling to Bulgaria increased with 8% year on year to 2.022 million, the Bulgarian national statistics further shows.
