Bulgarian-Russian partnership in the energy sector will continue to develop and deepen, said Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova in Moscow where she is taking part in the fourth sitting of the working group on Energy, which is part of the Bulgaria-Russia intergovernmental economic, scientific and technological cooperation commission.
The sitting was attended by Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak. The discussions focused on cooperation in the electrical industry, nuclear power generation and the gas sector. The participants stated that the Bulgarian-Russian dialogue in these spheres has intensified over the past year. The Russian side expressed an interest in participating in the reconstruction of Maritsa Iztok 2 thermal power plant, Bobov Dol thermal power plant and other energy facilities in Bulgaria, as well as a desire to take an active part in the modernization of the equipment at Kozloduy NPP.
