“In 2018 the seventh edition of our folklore festival will be held,” Mrs. Stavreva says. “It is held under the auspices of Dr. Dimita rGermanov - Mayor of Primorsko Municipality. This year we dedicate the festival to the 10th anniversary of Bulgaria's EU membership and the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Our motto is ‘Folklore and Traditions - European Way to Success.’ The region here where Strandzha Mountain kisses the sea is truly unique. Our forefathers have left us a thousand-year history, showing the heritage of several different cultures. We are glad to welcome the teams in this exotic place on the Southern Black Sea Coast where the Atliman Bay and its beautiful and clean beach are located. The festival is part of the Calendar of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism. The stage appearances of the participants are evaluated by an authoritative jury, chaired by Prof. Dr. Lozanka Peicheva - a folklorist and musicologist. The jury also includes world-famous folk singer Yanka Rupkina, as well as famous folklore experts: Assoc. Prof. Donna Mihaylova, lecturer at Ippolitova-Ivanova Institute in Moscow, Assoc. Prof. Prof. Ventsislav Dimov of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Dora Bareva - choreographer and member of the UNESCO International Dance Council, Nikolay Chapanski – music editor at Radio Plovdiv and owner of "Folklore Horizon" newspaper. This year, the audience will enjoy the performances of bands from Russia, Kosovo, Austria, Macedonia, Greece, Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Turkey. We still accept requests for participation of ensembles, dance and vocal groups, soloists. The deadline is 15 May.”
