Exports of Bulgarian agriculture produce and food reached EUR 4.5-5 billion. The export of these products exceeds imports by over EUR 1 billion, Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Rumen Porozhanov said at the Easter Forum themed Yes to Bulgarian Food. In 2018 Bulgaria exported 1.3 million liters of wine to Japan. It is bottled by a local company which sells it on the Japanese market under the brand Neshka named after the renowned Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast and coach Neshka Robeva. The EU-Japan agreement brought the customs fees for import of Bulgarian products to zero and their export to that country will continue to rise. The negotiations aimed at boosting the export of Bulgarian wine to China continue. Beijing has assured Sofia that it would allow the exports of Bulgarian dairy products. Bulgaria is looking for new markets in the Arab countries, Minister Porozhanov went on to say.
