During EU accession negotiations, Sofia will be monitoring Skopje’s implementation of Agreement for Good Neighborly Relations

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the recommendations of the European Commission to start negotiations on the EU accession of North Macedonia and Albania. Because of the priority of good neighborly relations at each stage of the negotiation process, the implementation of agreements reached with all candidate countries will be assessed. We will particularly focus on the practical implementation of the Agreement for Friendship, Good Neighborly Relations and Cooperation with North Macedonia, Sofia pointed out. Bulgaria will be carefully analyzing reports and recommendations of the European Commission, assessing their credibility and objectivity, the statement read.
