Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev during the Caspian Economic Forum in Turkmenistan.

Dmitry Medvedev laid emphasis on the need to integrate the Caspian with the Black Sea region. Bulgaria is on the opposite end of the Black Sea and is a gateway to the European continent, Boyko Borissov answered. We usually discuss natural gas but you should bear in mind that trade relations, rail, automobile and maritime transport and the centres in Bulgaria and Russia to the North of the Caspian Sea have a huge potential, Boyko Borissov said. The Black Sea should continue to be a sea of peace, trade, tourism, transport connections and gas pipelines, the Bulgarian Prime Minister urged.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting between Borissov and Medvedev was the possibility of realization of the Belene NPP project under the conditions set by the Bulgarian side.
