Bulgarian National Bank sells new emission of government securities

The Bulgarian National Bank held auction for sale of 20 year interest-bearing government bonds to the tune of EUR 67.6 million, with maturity on June 21, 2039 and an annual interest rate of 1.5%. Due to the advance payment for new fighter aircraft F-16 made in 2019, the Bulgarian authorities have already released bond issues to the tune of EUR 450 million. The authorities are expected to reach the limit of new debt (EUR 500 million) by the end of the year.
