International police operation stops criminal channel for trafficking in cultural property from Bulgaria to Western Europe

Antique amphorae, coins, ornaments, ceramics, and more, totaling over 4,600 items, were seized in an international operation conducted under the supervision of the Special Prosecutor's Office. Eight people were detained in Bulgaria, one in the UK. The participants are part of an international channel for trafficking in cultural property acquired from treasure hunters in Bulgaria. During the operation, documents confirming the sale of objects in auction houses in Western Europe have also been found.
