US ambassador to Sofia visits Bulgaria’s southern border

US Ambassador to Sofia Herro Mustafa has visited the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point in order to show US commitment to partnership and cooperation with Bulgaria in strengthening border security. This is the busiest border crossing point in Europe and the US supports the efforts of Bulgarian authorities to ensure security along the Bulgarian border, which is also an external border of the EU. Ambassador Mustafa also took note of the work of the Tripartite Joint Center for Police and Customs Cooperation between Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey. Together with officials from the Ministry of Interior, the guests discussed the ongoing cooperation and partnership between the US and Bulgarian services.
