At an extraordinary joint meeting of the government with the national headquarters responsible for coordinating measures against the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov urged people not to believe rumors that authorities were hiding the true state of affairs and called for avoiding panic.

The Prime Minister has recommended to the head of the National Headquarters General Mutafchiyski to continue to inform the media in details and Mutafchiyski once again stated that to date there has been no proven case of a Bulgarian or foreign citizen residing on the territory of Bulgaria with coronavirus infection.

In connection with the emergence of the first cases of a coronavirus in Greece, the foreign ministry recommended that Bulgarian citizens in the neighboring country follow the instructions of the local authorities and keep track of the development of the local health situation.
