Skopje tightens border control, Istanbul-Sofia train stops because of coronavirus risk

People from countries at risk arriving from Bulgaria, would enter North Macedonia only through the Gyueshevo - Deve Bair border checkpoint, it was reported. People coming from Italy, China, South Korea, Iran, France and Germany, will only cross the Bulgarian-North Macedonian border at Gyueshevo, where additional medical examinations could be made, authorities in Skopje said. The measure affects all passengers, regardless of their nationality. Organized tourists from coming from the countries listed are prohibited from entering North Macedonia.

Because of the coronavirus, Turkish State Railways has announced that it is temporarily stopping trains on the regular Istanbul - Sofia line.
