The Ministry of Interior has reported that as of March 25, Bulgarians traveling to Romania are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine at their designated address in Bulgaria’s northern neighbor. This does not apply to drivers of trucks and Bulgarian citizens traveling transit. Trucks traveling to Moldova and Ukraine can only enter Romania via the Ruse - Giurgiu border crossing.

Freight traffic to Turkey through the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo checkpoints is extremely intense at the exit points for trucks. Turkey does not let foreign citizens enter the country, as only Turkish citizens with cars, vans and buses are allowed. Bulgarians are allowed to enter their homeland at all three points on the border with Turkey. Turkey has imposed a restriction on truck drivers coming from countries at epidemiological risk. The crossing of Bulgarian trucks has not been stopped so far.

Greece does not allow foreign nationals through its border points with Bulgaria without showing the clear purpose of the trip. Only foreigners living or working in Greece are allowed, which must be certified at the border with an official document in Greek. The restriction does not apply to trucks. Traffic at Kulata border checkpoints, Kapitan Petko checkpoint and Ilinden checkpoint is normal.

At the border crossings with Serbia, Vrashka Chuka and Kalotina, the traffic of trucks is normal, but the traffic of all passengers, including Serbian citizens traveling by cars, vans and buses in both directions, has been stopped. Only humanitarian vehicles and trucks are allowed. The passage of persons and cars through Serbian checkpoints adjacent to the border checkpoints of Oltomantsi, Strazimirovtsi and Bregovo has been stopped.

At the Gyueshevo border checkpoint with North Macedonia, traffic is normal, it was reported. The neighboring country does not let foreign citizens enter by cars, vans and buses, and its citizens can enter the country only through Gyueshevo. When leaving North Macedonia, travelers can only pass through the Gyueshevo - Deve Bair border crossing. Trucks are crossing at all border crossings with Macedonia in both directions. According to information from the North Macedonian border authorities, empty trucks will not be allowed to pass from 22.00 to 07.00 hours.
