Bulgarian parliament to vote on new measures against Covid-19 on May 12

The parliamentary legal committee has adopted the amendments to the Health Act. These amendments refer to the restrictive measures after the end of the state of emergency on May 13. In case of an epidemic risk, it will be the government, not the Minister of Health, that will have the authority to declare an emergency epidemic situation in the whole country or in a separate region. The act can be appealed before the Supreme Administrative Court.

All fines for violating the anti-epidemic restrictions remain in force.
Due to the crisis in 2020, workers will be entitled to 60 days of unpaid leave, which will be considered as work experience.
On May 12, the bill will be voted on second reading in parliament. The legal regulation enters into force on May 14.
