The anti-government protest under the slogan "Let's defend democracy" in the capital city of Sofia last night turned into a rally of thousands of people in the city streets. Some of the protesters headed to the building of the Bulgarian National Television to support journalists and public figures who are calling for the resignation of director Emil Koshlukov.

In the so-called "triangle of power" downtown Sofia the protest was extremely crowded. From the rostrum in front of the former Party House, protesters called for the resignation of Minister of Justice Danail Kirilov and announced that 11 lawyers’ associations in the country were demanding this. A call was also made for the protest to grow into a national strike next week, including all spheres of life.
