Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova has announced in Plovdiv that she talked with the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov to allow tourism from Turkey to Bulgaria. She expects that by mid-August it will become clear how Turkish tourists will be allowed to visit Bulgaria.

The statement was made after a meeting with the mayor of Plovdiv, Zdravko Dimitrov, and the deputy mayor for culture Plamen Panov.
Statistics show that most of the tourists who spent the night in Plovdiv are Turkish citizens. From the beginning of the year until August 1, more than 155,000 people have used tourist accommodation in the Plovdiv region. Of these, Bulgarians are 137,000. Tourists from Turkey amount to 3,760, from Greece - 2,641, from Germany - 1,566 and from Italy - 1,311.
