Serbia introduces mandatory PCR test for arrivals from Bulgaria

All nationals of Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Romania must present a negative PCR test performed up to 48 hours prior to entering Serbia, Nova TV informs. The decision enters into force on August 15 and does not concern the Serbian citizens arriving from these countries. On August 15, Serbia is to lift the restrictions on entry for the citizens of Montenegro.

Heavy truck traffic at border with Romania

Truck traffic is heavy at Ruse border checkpoint with Romania in the direction of Romania, the border police website has announced. The Romanian side has temporarily suspended the passage of people and cars at the border check points opposite the Bulgarian Kainardzha and Krushari. Transit trucks can only cross the border at the border check points Ruse and Vidin. Bulgarian citizens are allowed to enter Romania without quarantine. 

176 new Covid-19 cases registered out of 5,877 PCR tests performed

176 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, or 2.99 % of the 5,877 PCR tests performed, indicate single information portal data.The biggest number of newly registered cases is in Blagoevgrad – 35, followed by Sofia city - 30, and Varna- 14. 14,069 is the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in Bulgaria since the start of the pandemic. Of them 4,684 are active. 2 people have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll up to 484. 824 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 63 in ICU. 422 people have recovered from coronavirus over the past 24 hours. 

Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov: Covid-19 situation is under control

All outbreaks of Covid-19 infection have been scanned and the Bulgarian hospitals can deal with this situation, this country’s Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov said. In his view, the hospitals are not exposed at the risk of remaining without beds, protective equipment and disinfectants. Bulgaria’s Minister of Health called on the people to show responsibility for themselves and their relatives, especially for seniors suffering from chronic diseases.
