Bulgaria’s defense business meets European and world partners within the framework of the 14th International Exhibition "Hemus 2020 - Defense, Anti-Terrorism and Security". The Plovdiv International Fair is hosting the event, which continues until October 3.

"In the past ten years, we have seen a steady trend of increasing international presence. We have participation of a military contingent of an allied NATO country, which is a strong message for our strategic partnership," Rear Admiral Nikolay Nikolov, Chairman of the Hemus Foundation has told the Bulgarian Military Television Channel.

Foreign participation is motivated by the specific geographic and geopolitical position of Bulgaria as a member of the EU and NATO, Nikolay Nikolov added: "Our foreign exhibitors come primarily because of the modernization projects in the Bulgarian army, but also because of the good opportunities for contacts."

The specialized international exhibition for defense equipment has been held according to a decision of the Council of Ministers since 1995. Hemus 2020 envisages an industrial forum, a tenth international scientific conference, as well as an opportunity to see static equipment and demonstrations of various types of armed forces.
