The 97th day of protests is scheduled to take place this evening in the capital city and across the country. During the traditional anti-government protest in Sofia on Monday night, a march and a brief blockade of the Eagles’ Bridge were held, BNR reported.

Organizers called for perseverance and patience until the main demands were met - resignations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, early elections, convening of Grand National Assembly, changes to the Constitution. Protest leaders announced that on Friday, October 16, when the "Grand People's Uprising - 5" is planned to take place, an MEP would speak. They did not say a name, but an article in the 24 Hours newspaper reported that this would be Irish MEP Claire Daly.

The mayor of Pomorie accuses Daly of conflict of interests and defamation of Bulgaria because she has a property in the resort town and disputes obligation to pay maintenance and security fees.
