Police start protests for higher salaries

The police are starting cascading protests in different cities of the country. The first is on October 21 in Varna. The next protest will be on October 22nd in Ruse, on the 23rd in Kardzhali and on the 27th in Burgas.

The largest union in the Ministry of Interior is calling for a rise in employees' salaries by up to 30%. Speaking to the "Horizont" program of the Bulgarian National Radio, Valentin Popov from the trade union said that there had been no actual negotiations with the leadership of the ministry.

If no agreement is reached, a large national protest is planned to take place in Sofia in early November.
