“The tendency of increasing Covid-19 infections continues, the British coronavirus variant is infecting more and more young people, that is why, if necessary additional restrictions will be imposed,” the government press service has announced.

On the instructions of PM Boyko Borissov, as of today the leave of Health Minister Kostadin Angelov in connection with the election campaign is being terminated, so he may devote his attention fully to curbing the spread of the virus.

“Elections come and go but life and health are the principal concern at the moment. That is why we shall not hesitate to re-impose stricter measures, whatever the negative effects for finance and the economy,” Boyko Borissov said at a working meeting with the National Coronavirus Operational Headquarters and the Minister of Health.
