Intense traffic expected today at end of 5-day-long Easter break

About half a million vehicles left the capital Sofia over the long Easter break which started on April 30 (Friday). Today, in the last non-working day, increased traffic is expected on the Thrace highway in the direction of Sofia. The police recommend that drivers should better use the less busy Sub-Balkan Road /Republican Road I-6 /. The recommendation is also connected to the fact that some sections of the Thrace highway are currently under renovation.

In an interview with the BNR, Ivan Dosev from the Road Infrastructure Agency called on drivers to drive responsibly: "Road traffic is not a war, let us not turn it into this ourselves."

In the days from April 30 to May 3, 11 people died on the roads of Bulgaria in traffic accidents.
