The average wheat yields in Bulgaria are 55% higher than last year, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced. Grain growers also report that the harvest is successful and the harvest is good.

Unlike 2020, which the drought turned into the worst for the last decade for rye and wheat producers, 2021 is proving successful. Interim data from the Ministry of Agriculture confirm this.

If last year the average wheat yield was less than 400 kg. per decare, and in some places in Dobrudja, the granary of Bulgaria, the yield dropped to 120 kg, then this year the average yield of wheat is 606 kg per decare.

There is also an increase in the yields of barley and rye by 14% and 76% respectively on an annual basis.
