"In one way or another we will monitor the way things happen; unlike the past, when we just protested." This is how caretaker Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov answered the question whether he would continue his career as a politician. He added that he and his colleagues would use the accumulated knowledge to ensure that the achievements would not be wasted.

"We stay in the political life of this country with a single goal – Bulgaria deserves to have greater potential," Petkov said. The minister also said that the cabinet has shown how "people with the will of managers can protect the interests of society, not of tycoons who are used to living on the state budget." According to him, there were many unusual activities in the Ministry of Economy that created possibilities for embezzlement and theft.
