Bulgaria reports 4-fold increase in number of new daily Covid-19 infections

774 are the new cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria for the past 24 hours compared to 176 cases a day earlier. 3.3% of the 23,283 tests performed are positive, according to the National Coronavirus Information Portal. The highest number of new infections is registered in Sofia - 198, followed by Plovdiv - 98 and Veliko Tarnovo - 46.

The number of actively registered patients has increased to 11,435 compared to 10,907 during the previous day. 

A total of 1140 patients are currently hospitalized compared to 1059 on Monday. 94 patients are treated in intensive care units. 223 persons recovered.

In the last 24 hours 23 people died with established coronavirus infection.

On Monday, 8,991 vaccine shots were administered. So far, 1,042,000 people have completed the full immunization cycle.
