Number of Covid-19 vaccinations and tests soars after green certificate mandate

4,816 is the number of newly registered coronavirus cases in the country over the past 24 hours, 294 more than the previous day, but there is a significant drop in the coronavirus positivity rate – by 8% - due to the surge in the number of tests performed. 10.17% of the record number of tests performed – 47,370 – have returned positive, National Coronavirus Information Portal data show. The number of active cases has gone up by 3,256 to reach 72,022.

6,608 patients are being treated in hospital, 590 of them in intensive care. 90% of the 814 new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated. The number of Covid-related deaths in the past day is 120, the number of recoveries – 1,450.

The order mandating the green certificate continues to boost the number of vaccinations – on Thursday their number was 28,191.
