Dozens of small towns and villages in the Smolyan and Kardzhali districts are without electricity after the torrential rain and heavy snowfall yesteday. Work continues to overcome the consequences of the bad weather in both districts where municipalities are in dire straits.
The situation in the Smolyan region remains difficult. 80% of the towns and villages in the district are without electricity. Restoration activities in the area continued throughout the day. In all municipalities there are partial problems with the power supply. As of last night, there is no electricity in several neighborhoods in Smolyan. The municipalities of Banite and Madan are completely without electricity.

The bad weather has left dozens of municipalities in the Kardzhali district without electricity. More than 30 teams are working on site to repair the damage. The wet snow that fell on the high parts of the mountain causes serious problems. The movement of trains on the line Momchilgrad - Podkova, where a train derailed earlier today, has been stopped.

The region continues to clear the damage from the torrential rains, and it is expected that it will become clear tomorrow what funds the affected municipalities will receive.
