"Tourism has been facing a great challenge for two years. What we will focus on is the payment of aid, starting at the beginning of the year. We have been waiting for a notification from the EU in order to start supporting tour operators," Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov has told the BNR.

The creation of a special credit line in support of the tourism industry is also expected. According to Prodanov, the low percentage of vaccinated people in this country has a negative impact on the business card of Bulgaria, as many foreign tourists might decide to avoid Bulgaria.

The minister has also promised policies for the restoration and proper management of the country's tourism infrastructure.
