So far, there has been no reaction from the President and Prime Minister to the calls of employers' organizations for convening the National Security Council over electricity prices. Vasil Velev from the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association has told BNT that employers are looking for such a meeting before the new year. On the first working day of 2022, a meeting of all representative employers' organizations is convened to decide on their next steps.

If no solution was found for the expensive electricity, many companies might not resume work after the holidays or there might be cuts in salaries and staff, as well as rising inflation, Velev warned.
