The annual inflation rate in Bulgaria accelerated to 6.3% in November, as the last time similar levels were observed in this country was in early 2009. The difference is that then there was a process of disinflation after a period of a double-digit inflation rate in 2008.

The rise in prices of energy goods and food by 24% and 6.8%, respectively, compared to the same month in 2020 formed more than 70% of the increase in the overall index on an annual basis. This is recorded in the monthly survey of the Bulgarian economy from December 2021, prepared and published today by the Ministry of Finance.

It is stated that the trend of accelerated rise in prices of basic food products continues. More significant increases in November were registered in the prices of bread - 7.8%, butter - 5.3%, yogurt - 4.2%, sugar - 3%, cheese - 2.6%.
