Today marks the 25th anniversary of the siege of the building of the National Assembly in Sofia during the mass protests against the government of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, which led to the fall of Zhan Videnov's government. The culmination was on the night of January 10, 1997, when thousands of citizens stormed parliament and some MPs barricaded themselves.
