Bulgaria is against the escalation of military measures before all diplomatic means have been utilized to resolve tensions along the Russian-Ukrainian border, said Bulgaria's Defense Minister Stefan Yanev in response to a question about the possibility of deploying additional NATO troops in Bulgaria. "If necessary, caused by a change in the environment and escalation of the situation, the Ministry of Defense will propose to the Council of Ministers options for decision-making by the competent Bulgarian authorities, including the National Assembly," he said.

So far, Bulgaria has no official position on the risks arising from growing tensions on the Russian-Ukrainian border, as NATO's response options are being discussed at the military-technical level, the minister added.
