Bulgaria reports high number of new infections in past day

6,863 is the number of the new cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours, which is 171 fewer infections than a day earlier. 76.2% of the newly infected persons have not been vaccinated. 16.7% of the 41,084 tests performed returned positive, according to the portal coronavirus.bg.

The number of actively registered patients increased by 4,094 to 146,966. 554 infected people were admitted to hospitals. 77.2% of them are not immunized. The number of hospitalized patients decreased by 109 to 5,190. There are 578 patients in intensive care.

The death toll from an established Covid-19 infection in the past day was 80 persons. 72 of them were not vaccinated. 2,289 is the registered number of recoveries in the past day.

24,794 vaccines were administered on Friday, as more than 19,000 booster doses were administered, too. 1,960,934 people have completed the immunization cycle. 494,666 Bulgarians have received a booster dose.
