Bulgaria's Environment Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Borislav Sandov has denied allegations that there were mines drifting in the Black Sea coming from the Odessa region and described the reports as part of a hybrid warfare. According to him, such free-moving mines, if any such mines exist there, would not leave the waters near Odessa in the next two weeks to move to Bulgaria.

"If there is any movement of mines, they will be established first by the Romanian side, so there is no danger for fishermen or vessels in the Bulgarian Black Sea waters at this time and there will probably not be in two weeks' time too," he added.
"Russia's reports about mines drifting in the Black Sea is aimed at hindering commercial shipping and creating fear among shipowners in coastal states and does not pose a real threat," said Rear Admiral Kirill Mikhailov, commander of Bulgaria's naval forces.
