CITUB: Incomes should increase with at least 12%-15% on an annual basis

Plamen Dimitrov

Incomes should increase with at least 12%-15% on an annual basis, so they can reach decent levels. In five years, the average monthly salary should reach EUR 1,685 and the minimum salary shold amount to EUR 870, the President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) Plamen Dimitrov said for the BNR.

In the past 7 or 8 months, inflation has eaten up a bigger chunk of the incomes’ increase. Higher inflation will contribute to increased revenues in the state budget to the tune of several billion leva”, Plamen Dimitrov contends. In his view, the state must use these additional revenues to raise incomes and pensions by 15% as of July 1, in order to offset the annual inflation.
