The parliamentary committee for control over the security services has started an investigation into the situation related to migrant pressure on Bulgaria’s southern border. The reason for the inspection was information from the Ministry of Interior, the State Agency for National Security and the Border Police about higher migrant pressure in April.

According to the State Agency for Refugees, there are currently 1,575 people living in the refugee centers in Bulgaria with a capacity of 4,126 people, BNR correspondent Dora Atanasova reported. Most of the accommodated are Syrians. They complain about the slow procedure for obtaining status and the bad conditions, chair of the committee Desislava Atanasova said.
