Number of Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria is 10 times larger than that of Middle East refugees

There are 81,486 Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria as 45,000 of them are children. All of them have already asked for temporary protection. After their registration with their personal number of a foreigner, every refugee can use their rights, head of the Agency for Refugees, Mariana Tosheva, said. "Efforts are focused on providing Ukrainians with contacts with employers. We have been working on a day care mechanism to address the lack of places in kindergartens," Tosheva told Nova News. The number of employment agreements with Ukrainians in this country are now more than 5,800.

According to Tosheva, the applications for international protection filed by refugees from the Middle East are 8,327, as 1,423 of the application were by unaccompanied minors.
