Almost 30% of drivers in Sofia drive under the influence of intoxicants, said Commissioner Tencho Tenev, head of the traffic police in Sofia. According to him, these are young people aged between 18 and 40 who feel that they can get away with not obeying the rules.

The capital is very busy, the traffic is high and we do not have enough people for road checks, Tenev said. He explained that there are 15 traffic police vehicles in Sofia every night and another five guarding the highways around the capital.
More than 110,000 speeding violations have been recorded in Sofia since the beginning of the year. Most accidents with the highest number of casualties occur on the capital's Ring Road and on the boulevard of the city. "Tsarigradsko shose".
