The annual inflation rate in Bulgaria rose in July for the 17th consecutive month, reaching 17.3% compared to 16.9% in the previous month, according to data by the National Statistical Institute. This has been the highest inflation rate since May 1998, when it was at the level of 18% and the country was emerging from a period of hyperinflation.
Price growth in the sphere of entertainment and culture in July compared to June was 7.4%, followed by the prices of water, electricity, gas and other fuels (5.2%). The price rise for passenger air transport reached 31.7%.
