Mandatory isolation for Covid-19 patients will be reduced from 10 to 7 days. This was reported at a briefing in front of the Ministry of Health by Associate Professor Angel Kunchev - Chief State Health Inspector. The quarantine for contact persons is reduced from 7 to 5 days, while for persons who are within 3 months of their last immunization, as well as those who were ill within this period, the quarantine is lifted.

According to Kunchev, this is the first step towards a gradual easing of the anti-coronavirus measures. The order comes into effect on Thursday and will be in effect for a week.

The rule for mandatory wearing of masks in public transport, medical facilities, pharmacies and institutions that provide social services remains in force at least until August 25.
