Bulgaria reports 178 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in past day

178 is the number of new Covid-19 cases out of 1,226 tests performed in the country in the past day, a positivity rate of 15%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 71% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated. The highest number of infections is in Sofia - 40, in Varna – 25, and in Burgas – 14.

785 patients are being treated in hospital, 14 of them in intensive care. 87% of the 15 patients admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours are not vaccinated.

Two patients have died in the past day, one was not vaccinated, the number of recoveries reported is 135.

12,000 is the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country.

35 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered in the past day. 2,069,611 is the number of people with a completed vaccination cycle in the country, 64,904 have taken a booster shot.
