Nearly 71% of the Bulgarians think that refugees should integrate better, while in 2017 about 20% of people were of this opinion, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) reported.
"The crisis in Ukraine has shown that better integration of refugees into the life of the country is necessary, especially as the war will most likely continue for a long time to come," said CRB Deputy Director General Nadejda Todorovska.
The survey also shows that the percentage of people who were completely indifferent to the plight of refugees is gradually decreasing from 39 to 19.
73% of respondents do not mind their children attending classes together with the children of refugees. The main conclusion of the survey, which is part of the "Getting to know the other" project, is that there is currently a very favourable environment in the country for the reception of refugees compared to 5 years ago.
