"Bulgaria should have the courage and the self-confidence to initiate meetings at the highest diplomatic level in a bid to seek a solution to the aggravated international situation,” Vice President Iliana Iotova said in Veliko Turnovo.

“After the declaration by the Russian President, we are obviously seeing a deepening of this conflict, an escalation of the war, and many dangers which our generation has never known. There needs to be an answer from the big international organizations,” Iliana Iotova said. “Bulgaria needs to take a categorical stand and make a decision within the frameworks of the EU. Europe’s leadership leaves much to be desired. It is not too late for Europe, as represented by its institutions and its 27 members, to put to discussion the question of halting the war in Ukraine,” Vice President Iotova said.
